Mahadev Shetty is from Bannithalapura Village, Gundlupete Taluk, Chamrajnagar District, South Karnataka. He has been practicing agriculture for six years. On his 9 acres of land, he grows various crops such as turmeric and vegetables, including tomato, onion, chili, okra, and capsicum.

Every year, he dedicates 5 acres to cultivating vegetables, as he believes they provide a quick return on investment.
